Linocut Printmaking

In-School Art Field Trips

In-School Art Field Trips are Single or Double Art Programs where an art instructor visits your school/classroom for a single day. Teachers can choose from a variety of printmaking themes for their grade/class. Each art lesson will be ~90 minutes, taking place in your classroom. We set up, clean up and bring all the supplies! Students receive a drawing lesson and use proper printmaking tools to create their own Linocut art print. Teachers can book this independently or with other teachers at their school.

  • Learning to Print

    What tools are needed to create a linocut print?
    Students learn about brayers, ink, slabs and a printing press.

  • Printing

    Each student inks and prints their individual linocut printmaking print.

  • The Final Linocut Print

    Each student comes away with one linocut print and one carved linocut plate.

  • Carving the Printmaking Plate

    Students learn what tools are needed
    and how to carve a printmaking plate.

  • Sketching

    After the visual presentation and drawing lesson, students sketch their ideas
    using different types of lines, shapes and patterns.
